Hello, TeachConnect community!
Teaching in a rural/remote setting does interest me, and I think I will pursue it at some point in my teaching career.
Although I grew up in Toowoomba, I have been living in the city for the majority of my life. This might sound silly, but I occasionally worry that I would not fit in with a rural community. I would be keen to hear the experiences of ‘city-slickers’ who have ventured into the country to teach!
Did you feel like an ‘outsider’? How did you integrate into the community?
